AALCI in NYC

From Thursday, June 20 - Monday, June 24, we spent time in New York City, an annual activity for our summer program. We visited the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, the African Burial Ground, Strand Book Store, the Brooklyn Museum, Chinatown, and other destinations during our time in the city.

I hope the fellows made the most of their trip to New York City. It is one of the many fulfilling aspects of the Institute.

Jonae, while I can only speak for myself, my cohort and I absolutely enjoyed NYC. It was night only a highlight of the Institute, but my life. NYC gives off the vibe that you can accomplish anything if you set your mind to it, and it was just the confidence I needed to take on the graduate school application process and eventually go on to earn my Ph.D.
